INSULATING
LONG-LASTING INSULATION WITHOUT ANY DRAWBACKS
When using lime it is vital that the insulation used is breathable. If the insulation isn’t breathable it can have bad implications on the health of a building.
Insulation works by trapping hot air and retaining heat. The longer insulation retains heat, the better it is. The lower the Watts per metre-Kelvin rating (W/mK), the better it is at insulating.
HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS
Sheep wool 0.035-0.04 W/mK
Sheep wool is a sustainable material that is proven to absorb harmful substances. It can absorb over 30% of its weight in water, is inflammable and has acoustic qualities.
Hemp 0.038 W/mK
Hemp is becoming more widely used within the building industry as it is a great sustainable, Eco-friendly, carbon-neutral way of insulating a building. Hemp has outstanding thermal values and it is vapour permeable allowing moisture in without affecting thermal abilities. It has effective acoustic properties and it is not affected by mould or insects.
Woodfibre insulation 0.3 W/mK
Woodfibre board is another sustainably made product that holds great acoustic and thermal properties.
